• Daytona Beach, FL, Position Type: Seasonal Full Time, Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, Salary Range: $17.50Hourly, Job Shift: Weekend , Job Category: Christmas, This is a seasonal position working Early November – December 24, 2026 Schedule/Hours: Seasonal/Full-Time (evenings and Saturdays may be required), 40 hours/week This position is responsible for: Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same; may drive a Salvation Army vehicle to drive kettle workers to and from locations and/or pick up kettles.

Key Responsibilities

Interviews, recruits, screens and selection of bell ringing staff and volunteers ensuring all sites are covered effectively. Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.

Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service; answers questions, concerns or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone. Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff and volunteers with documentation of the hours worked.

Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; prepares and maintains special event records for future reference. Meets with community leaders and organizations and discusses Salvation Army needs. Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.

Assists with counting, recording and depositing of kettle funds. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to become and remain certified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Duties are usually performed seated.

Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations 50-75% of work time. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is performed in and out of the office and in a wide variety of weather conditions.

Dressing appropriately is important for remaining safe and comfortable.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

High School diploma or GED, AND One year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities Licenses & Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License required, with ability to meet Salvation Army driving requirements for insurance purposes and remain qualified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle throughout the course of employment in this position.
