Job description
Notice of Support Staff Posting Position: GSRP Early Childhood Floater Substitute Posting # 4136 Great Lakes, Lakeshore, Los Lagos, Pine Creek and Riley Farms and Woodside Elementary Schools Posting Dates: October 7, 2026 � Until Filled Reports To: State & Federal Coordinator Beginning: 10/19/2026 Hours: 32 hours per week Monday � Thursday School-Year/Part-Time Qualifications: Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (CDA) or related field preferred.
Experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting preferred. Ability to implement developmentally appropriate practices and follow established lesson plans. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
Must pass background checks and meet health/safety clearance requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Provide classroom coverage for lead and/or associate teachers during absences. Support the implementation of daily lesson plans, routines, and activities as directed. Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment. Assist children with transitions, self-help skills, meals, rest time, and outdoor play. Use positive behavior guidance strategies to support children's social-emotional development.
Maintain consistent routines and reinforce classroom expectations to provide stability for students. Communicate effectively with classroom staff, site supervisor, and program director regarding classroom needs and student progress. Follow licensing regulations, GSRP requirements, and district policies. Participate in ongoing professional development as requested.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Reaching : Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Lifting : Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Grasping : Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Talking : Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Hearing : Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
Repetitive motions : Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is subject to environmental conditions. The worker should provide consistent and reliable in person attendance.
