Job description
Lead Veterinarian Partner – CityVet Charlotte Uptown
Location: Charlotte, NC (Uptown) Compensation: $220,000–$300,000+, with a flexible partnership structure (profit sharing, equity ownership or a mix)
Relocation assistance available
Make your mark in the heart of Uptown Charlotte
Make your mark at an established veterinary clinic in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. CityVet Charlotte Uptown opened in October 2024 as CityVet's first North Carolina location. It offers comprehensive medical, dental and surgical care alongside walk-in urgent care. This opportunity combines an existing practice with the freedom to shape its next chapter and build lasting relationships with pets and their families.
Most partner roles ask you to start from nothing: sign a lease, hire a team and hope clients find you. Here, the clients, the team and the momentum are already in place. What the practice needs now is a leader who will take it further.
What you'll do
- Lead the medicine. Set the clinical direction and standards of care across medicine, dentistry, surgery and urgent care. There are no quotas and no rigid corporate protocols.
- Lead the team. Mentor and develop the staff, keep a culture that already works, and make it stronger.
- Grow what's here. Build on existing client relationships, deepen the practice's roots in Uptown, and work with local rescues and shelters.
- Think like an owner. Work with CityVet leadership on the practice's goals, and share directly in the success you help create.
Your partnership, your way
There's no one-size-fits-all partnership here. Some veterinarians want to share in the profits right away. Others want to build equity and own a stake in the practice. Many want to start with one and grow into the other. We're flexible, and we'll shape the ownership structure around you: your goals, your career stage and your long-term plans.
Here are two common starting points:
Profit sharing
- Share in the clinic's profits from the start
- Rewards you for growth right away, with no upfront buy-in
- A lower-risk way into practice leadership, with the option to move to equity later
Equity ownership
- Own a real stake in an established, growing practice
- Build long-term wealth and value that's yours
- Have a true owner's voice in the clinic's future
Or something in between. You might start with profit sharing and move to equity over time, or you might have your own idea of how a partnership should work. Either way, we want to hear it. We'll go through the options openly and early, and build a structure that works for you and for the practice.
What makes this different
- A head start, not a startup. You step into a clinic with a client base, a full-service medical offering and a team in place.
- Real influence. You shape the clinic's medicine, team and culture, rather than managing someone else's vision.
- Support behind you. CityVet handles HR, payroll, IT, recruiting, marketing, finance, procurement, legal and real estate, so you can focus on medicine and leadership.
- A move made easier. We offer relocation assistance to help you make Charlotte home.
