Job Title: Linux Engineer / Senior System Administrator Job Location: Hyderabad / Chennai Employment Type: Full-Time Work Mode: Onsite – 5 Days Work From Office Experience: 5+ Years CTC: Up to ₹18 LPA Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Senior System Administrator / Linux Engineer to manage and support enterprise Linux/Unix environments across VMware-based on-premises and hybrid infrastructure.

The role involves Linux administration, Puppet automation, VMware infrastructure management, production support, incident management, scripting, and ITSM processes in a regulated enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, build, patch, tune, and maintain enterprise Linux/Unix systems. Perform system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and access management. Develop and maintain Puppet modules and manifests for configuration automation. Automate server provisioning, patching, application deployment, and configuration management.

Manage VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments. Provision and manage Linux/Unix VMs and templates. Support performance management, capacity planning, DR, and high-availability initiatives. Participate in P1/P2 incidents, troubleshooting, RCA, and production support. Develop automation scripts using Bash and/or Python.

Troubleshoot networking concepts including TCP/IP and DNS. Work with enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions. Execute changes through ServiceNow/ITSM, including CAB, risk assessment, and rollback procedures. Maintain runbooks, SOPs, technical documentation, and audit-ready records. Participate in DR drills and failover testing.

Mandatory Skills 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux Administration. Strong expertise in Puppet Configuration Management. Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter. Strong production support and incident management experience. Hands-on scripting experience with Bash and/or Python. Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and storage systems.

Experience with ITSM, incident management, and change management. Excellent communication skills. Preferred Certifications RHCSA / RHCE VMware VCP Puppet Certified Professional ITIL Work Requirements 5 days work from office in Hyderabad or Chennai. Willingness to work rotational shifts, including early morning, mid-afternoon, and night shifts.

Weekend support may be required, with compensatory off on weekdays. Candidate must be flexible with shift timings. Willingness to attend a face-to-face final interview is required. Interview Process 2 Levels of Technical Interviews
