Chief of Staff
Job description
Who are we? Led by MIT CSAIL professors and built on a decade of their research, Sagora is the autonomous engineering platform for AI systems. We compress weeks of expert engineering into hours, continuously improving the performance, cost and quality of customers’ AI models, pipelines and inference. Our agents do what expert engineers do: diagnose problems, form hypotheses, run experiments and ship validated, production-ready code.
You’ll build alongside the founders and recent Ph. Ds from their lab. We’re backed by $13.5M in seed funding and engineering leaders including Jeff Dean and Ion Stoica, and we’re already in production at multiple S&P 500 companies. We’re headquartered in Boston. Chief of Staff to the CEO We are seeking a highly organized, resourceful, and execution-oriented Chief of Staff to partner closely with the CEO of our growing 15-person AI startup.
This person will play a central role in helping the CEO manage the company’s day-to-day internal operations, advance key priorities, and ensure important work moves forward without anything falling through the cracks. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys bringing structure to a fast-moving environment. The Chief of Staff will operate across business operations, strategic initiatives, people operations, and executive administration.
Responsibilities
will range from coordinating company-wide priorities and preparing investor materials to supporting HR processes and following up on critical action items. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of relevant experience and is comfortable moving seamlessly between strategic projects and practical execution. No task is too big or too small when it contributes to the company’s success.
Core Responsibilities Strategic Initiatives & Executive Leverage Partner directly with the CEO to define, prioritize, and drive critical strategic and operational priorities across the business. Increase executive decision velocity by conducting analytical deep-dives, synthesizing complex market inputs, and structuring decision frameworks for leadership.
Drive alignment and accountability across technical, product, and commercial teams, ensuring core company milestones are met on schedule. Spearhead zero-to-one special projects across product strategy, pricing, and strategic partnerships. Business Operations & Governance Own the company’s operating cadence, including executive leadership syncs, strategic quarterly planning, and all-hands forums.
Lead executive communications and governance: architect board decks, investor update narratives, and strategic presentations for key external stakeholders. Identify operational bottlenecks and build scalable systems, tools, and processes that enable an elite technical team to execute without friction. Partner with external legal, financial, and regulatory advisors to manage key corporate operations and governance milestones.
Commercial Strategy & Go-to-Market Operations Customer Journey & Deal Execution: Act as an early-stage commercial operator alongside the founders, guiding enterprise prospects and design partners through complex technical evaluations and buying decisions. Use Case Discovery: Partner with prospective customers and our engineering leadership to uncover, define, and prioritize the most high-impact commercial use cases for Sagora’s technology.
Contract & Agreement Navigation: Drive the deal-closing process by navigating complex legal, security, procurement, and business requirements to finalize customer contracts and commercial agreements. Candidate Profile Experience: 5–8+ years of high-impact experience in management consulting, enterprise tech sales/GTM, venture capital, or as a Biz.
Ops / commercial operator at a high-growth tech startup. Commercial Acumen: Experience engaging directly with B2B enterprise customers; comfortable navigating complex sales cycles, procurement processes, and legal negotiations. Strategic Problem Solver: Exceptional ability to break down ambiguous, multi-variable business problems into structured, actionable plans.
Executive Presence & Discretion: High emotional intelligence, articulate communication, and impeccable judgment when navigating external customer relationships and sensitive corporate information. Builder Mindset: Strong bias to action; comfortable operating in an early-stage, fast-iterating environment where systems must be built from the ground up.
Why Join Sagora? Strong pedigree: Work alongside a team of renowned experts in AI-driven systems. Massive impact: Our technology delivers significant improvements in long-running engineering research and design tasks, spanning performance engineering, model pipeline development and efficiency. Robust financials: Our $13.
5M seed round closed in September 2025. We’re backed by top-tier VC firms (Pillar, E14 and Neotribe) and luminaries including Jeff Dean, Ion Stoica, Aparna Chennapragada, Nick Mc. Keown and Srinivas Narayanan. We’re in production at multiple S&P 500 companies and running paid proofs of value with more. Solving hard problems: We’re solving the fundamental bottlenecks of the AI revolution: performance, cost and quality.
