Job description
Role Objective The Site Manager shall be responsible for managing, supervising and coordinating all on-site construction, installation, pre-commissioning support and handover activities. The role is site-based and requires strong practical construction leadership, contractor supervision, HSE enforcement, quality control and daily coordination with the Project Manager, EPC Contractor, Owner’s Engineer, OEMs and subcontractors.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day site execution activities for renewable energy projects above 200 MW.
- Supervise EPC Contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements, ITPs, HSE plans and project schedule.
- Coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical, grid connection, SCADA, communications and commissioning support activities on site.
- Monitor progress against the approved construction programmer and report deviations, constraints, risks and recovery actions.
- Ensure site works are performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual, technical and quality requirements.

- Coordinate access, logistics, material delivery, laydown areas, lifting operations, heavy transport and site mobilisation activities.
- Review and monitor contractor manpower, equipment, productivity and construction sequencing.
- Support inspection, punch list management, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning readiness and handover documentation.
- Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Maintain clear site records, including daily reports, progress photographs, site instructions, NCRs, observations, punch lists and interface logs.
Requirements 5. Minimum Experience Requirements 5.1 General Experience
- Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience in construction, energy, infrastructure, power generation or large-scale industrial projects.
- Minimum 5–7 years of direct site experience in renewable energy projects.
- Proven experience supervising site works for utility-scale renewable energy projects, preferably above 200 MW
- Strong experience managing EPC Contractors and multiple subcontractors in live construction environments.
- Experience in remote, desert, harsh-climate or logistically complex project sites is highly desirable.
- . 5.2 Technology-Specific Experience Candidates should have strong practical site experience in at least one of the following technologies, with preference for candidates experienced in all three: Wind
- Onshore wind farm construction, including roads, access tracks, crane pads, WTG foundations and hardstands.
- Wind turbine component logistics, heavy transport, unloading, storage and lifting coordination.
- WTG erection activities, including main crane coordination, mechanical completion and pre-commissioning support.
- MV collection systems, inter-array cabling, fibre optics, earthing and substation interfaces.
- Strong understanding of wind-related construction constraints, lifting windows and weather-dependent execution planning.
- Experience coordinating WTG OEM activities and Balance of Plant contractors. Solar PV
- Utility-scale PV site construction, including grading, piling, tracker installation, module installation and cabling.
- DC works, combiner boxes, string testing, inverter stations, MV stations, transformers and SCADA interfaces.
- Experience managing large PV installation fronts and high-volume manpower/productivity monitoring.
- Understanding of PV quality issues, including module handling, torqueing, cable management, tracker alignment and punch list closure. Renewable Energy Site Manager recruitment requirements

- Utility-scale BESS installation, including battery containers, PCS, transformers, MV switchgear and auxiliary systems.
- Coordination of BESS foundations, container placement, fire detection and suppression systems, communications and controls.
- Understanding of BESS safety requirements, restricted access, energization risks and emergency response coordination.
- Support to BMS, EMS, PCS, SCADA, functional testing, capacity testing and commissioning readiness.
- Experience with hybrid renewable projects integrating PV, Wind and BESS is preferred.
- Site Execution Competencies
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, IFC packages, method statements, inspection and test plans, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, access planning, logistics, site mobilization and work front management.
- Ability to monitor daily productivity, identify bottle necks, and drive corrective actions with contractors.
- Experience in managing large site teams, multiple subcontractors and parallel work fronts.
- Strong understanding of civil, electrical, mechanical and controls interfaces in renewable energy projects.
- Practical understanding of mechanical completion, punch list closure, handover dossiers and commissioning readiness.
- Ability to enforce site discipline, permit-to-work requirements, method statement compliance and stop-work authority where required.
- Strong site reporting discipline, including daily reports, progress updates, photographs, constraints logs and action trackers.
- HSE Requirements
- Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental performance on large construction sites.
- Proven experience enforcing HSE requirements for lifting operations, working at height, electrical works, excavation, heavy transport, hot works, confined spaces and energization activities.
- Ability to participate in or lead toolbox talks, safety walks, site inspections, incident reviews and corrective action follow-up.
- Understanding of permit-to-work systems, lock-out/tag-out, energization procedures, exclusion zones and emergency response plans.
- Ability to challenge unsafe practices and stop unsafe work when necessary.
- Experience coordinating with HSE Managers and contractor HSE teams to improve site safety culture and compliance.
- Quality and enviromental Requirements
- Experience monitoring site quality against approved ITPs, method statements, drawings and specifications.
- Ability to coordinate inspections, witness points, hold points and acceptance of completed works. Renewable Energy Site Manager recruitment requirements

- Understanding of quality risks in civil works, electrical installation, mechanical installation, cabling, earthing, module handling, WTG installation and BESS installation.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify poor workmanship or non-compliant installation practices.
- Knowledge of environmental issues.
