Global Instituitonal Business drives the global business strategy for a selected portfolio of institutional clients headquartered in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) across various products and geographies. Key focus areas include business development, new origination, and cross-selling BBVA’s global capabilities.

In addition, support global management and the local institutional coverage team to promote value-added strategic transactions and transform relationships into multi-product businesses.

About the job

Development, structuring, and ownership of a client portfolio covering financial institutions across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH region), in close collaboration with BBVA’s Global Sector Heads and the local Institutional team. Interact with global clients and their subsidiaries to provide holistic coverage.

Develop marketing plans and coordinate pitches with the local coverage team and local bankers across BBVA's global footprint. Proactively involve and collaborate with Global Markets, Investment Banking & Finance, and Global Transaction Banking, while working closely with Portfolio and Risk Management units. Manage global client credit exposure, review profitability, and maintain operational efficiency.

Ensure timely compliance with all KYC obligations for assigned clients. Incorporate macroeconomic, industry, and political analysis into coverage strategies.

Qualifications

& Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Corporate & Investment Banking experience, specifically as a Relationship Manager. Strong industry knowledge of the financial institutions sector across the DACH region and beyond. Proven track record in originating, negotiating, and leading transactions. Good product knowledge (e.g.

, ECM/DCM, Rates, Credit, FX, Derivatives, Global Lending, Transaction Banking, Trade Finance, Project Finance). Demonstrated expertise in credit risk management. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field. Fluent in German and English, Spanish is a plus. Skills: Customer Targeting, Empathy, Ethics, Innovation, Proactive Thinking
