Environmental Works, Inc. (EWI) is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support our safety program company-wide. This role will uphold EWI’s safety culture by assisting with safety audits and incident investigations while working closely with Operations to identify hazards and support safe work practices. This position requires an organized, detail-oriented professional who can follow through on multiple priorities, communicate effectively with employees, and use safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
The role includes both office-based work and field support, with some travel required. EWI provides comprehensive environmental services, from strategic planning and compliance to remediation, field services, drilling, and tank services.

SAFETY COORDINATOR | ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Field & Operational Support Support with site and shop safety audits to identify hazards and verify compliance with company and regulatory standards Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up discussions Support development of site-specific safety plans in collaboration with Operations Assist with safety onboarding and field safety orientations Travel to field locations as required Administrative & Data Organization Responsibilities Maintain and organize all safety-related documentation, including: Incident and accident reports Near miss reports Corrective action plans Training records Maintain safety audit database and reporting dashboards Ensure ability to trend data and provide actionable insights through accuracy and completeness of information Assist with compliance documentation Ensure documentation is easily accessible and complete Training & Program Support Assist in coordination of safety training programs Track training completion and certification status Support CPR/First Aid training coordination (instructor credential a plus) Assist in maintaining and updating the Corporate Health & Safety Manual Research and support development of new safety policies and procedures SAFETY COORDINATOR | COMPETENCIES Excellent organizational discipline and attention to detail Ability to track multiple initiatives and ensure follow-through Effective written and verbal communication skills Professional presence in both field and office environments Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions before escalation Adaptable in changing environments SAFETY COORDINATOR | REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Experience with incident investigations and documentation Experience conducting site audits Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools High School diploma or GED equivalent SAFETY COORDINATOR | PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1-3 years of experience in safety, environmental health & safety, or related field Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Business, or related field OSHA 10 or 30 certification HAZWOPER 40-hour certification CPR/First Aid Instructor certification MSHA training or instructor credential BCSP or other safety certifications SAFETY COORDINATOR | WORK ENVIRONMENT Hybrid role with both office-based administrative work and field exposure Exposure to dust, fumes, noise, hazardous materials, and varying weather conditions Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas Some travel required SAFETY COORDINATOR | POSITION TYPE Full-time position.
Standard hours Monday–Friday with flexibility and travel required based on operational needs.
PAY RANGE
$65,000 – $80,000.
