A Snapshot of Your Day As the Head of Overhauls, Service Competence Center

  • Distributed Gas Turbine Fleet for North America, you will lead the establishment and operation of Siemens Energy's North American overhaul capability for the SGT-750 and SGT-400 fleets. You will be responsible for creating a world-class overhaul organization capable of safely, efficiently, and consistently executing gas turbine overhauls that meet Siemens Energy quality standards and customer expectations. Working in close collaboration with Product Competence Centers (PCCs), engineering teams, quality organizations, supply chain, EHS, testing, logistics, and service operations, you will define the overhaul strategy, design shop processes, develop overhaul workflows, establish tooling and equipment requirements, recruit and develop technical talent, and build a scalable operation capable of supporting a rapidly growing Distributed Gas Turbine fleet across North America. This is a unique opportunity to build a greenfield overhaul organization from the ground up and establish a core strategic capability supporting fleet reliability, customer satisfaction, and business growth. How You'll Make an Impact. Lead the development, commissioning, and operational readiness of the North American SGT-750 and SGT-400 overhaul capability, including facilities, tooling, workflows, and production processes. Partner with Siemens Energy Product Competence Centers (PCCs) and cross-functional teams to transfer technology, localize overhaul standards, and continuously advance technical capabilities. Establish and lead safe, efficient, and high-quality overhaul operations, driving schedule adherence, productivity, capacity utilization, turnaround time, and cost competitiveness. Develop and standardize overhaul processes, work instructions, quality controls, and continuous improvement practices utilizing lean manufacturing and digital shop-floor solutions. Build, develop, and lead a high-performing overhaul organization, including workforce planning, recruitment, technical training, qualification, and leadership development. Champion safety, quality, and technical excellence through strong EHS practices, quality governance, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and measurable performance improvements. Lead operating plans, budgets, investment business cases, and capacity strategies while partnering with stakeholders to support fleet growth, customer satisfaction, and long-term business performance. What You Bring. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience. 10 or more years of relevant experience in gas turbine overhauls, rotating equipment manufacturing, turbomachinery services, industrial maintenance, or similar technical environments. Proven experience leading production, overhaul, manufacturing, or service organizations, including building high-performing teams and delivering measurable operational results. Strong technical expertise in areas such as gas turbines or rotating equipment overhaul, production planning, quality systems, lean manufacturing, reliability, and facility commissioning. Demonstrated success designing, commissioning, expanding, or transforming industrial operations, with experience scaling organizations and managing complex technical initiatives. Strong leadership, communication, change management, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence effectively across functions, cultures, and global teams. Experience with SGT-400, SGT-750, or comparable industrial gas turbines, including technology transfer, localization, industrialization, and/or establishing greenfield overhaul, manufacturing, assembly, or service capabilities is preferred. Willing and able to travel at least 25% as needed. Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. The Distributed Service Competence Center in NA is the service backbone for the rapidly growing distributed fleet. The competence center will oversee and be responsible for regional cores, parts, logistics, overhaul & testing operations, ensuring readiness for major growth in the distributed fleet, increasing service events, and evolving customer expectations.
