Rock Breaker Operator

POSITION: Rock Breaker JOB GRADING: B4 DEPARTMENT: Metallurgy SITE: Tarkwa Mine Role Details: Gold Fields Ghana is seeking to employ an experienced and qualified individual for the position of Rock Breaker Operator. The incumbent will apply acquired skills and knowledge to safely and effectively operate within defined and approved procedures and policies to meet the immediate demands of the operation and execute daily activities in a responsible manner, with quality and quantity of work as priority.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize rock breaking equipment or machinery in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and Company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs). Maintain good and safe working surface to support all mining operational activities. Provide assistance in solving operational and human-related challenges by applying acquired knowledge and experience.

Regularly contribute to cost saving practices and productivity improvement of assigned mining projects. Responsible for reporting any unsafe act or situation to supervisor (s) at all times and perform any other related operational duty after adequate training. Key Requirements: Basic Education Certificate/ Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC) or its equivalent qualification 2-3 years of work experience in a surface mining environment Certificate of Competence in the safe use of Rock Breaking Equipment and Machinery A valid Ghanaian professional drivers’ license “E” Must have a good understanding of operational activities Technical competence in loading and hauling activities Understanding of Mining Health & Safety Procedures Ability to use initiative, take responsibility and manage tasks through to completion.
