GGP Poultry Specialist Trainee

Job Description Summary: We are looking for a responsible, qualified, and experienced candidate for the post of Poultry Specialist Trainee. This job will be responsible for learning and supervising all aspects of GGP contract farms. Job Description: Supervising all aspects of contract farms Resolving contract grower conflicts Bio-security, strain security, animal welfare and health & safety are major responsibilities Assisting with placements, vaccinations, and disinfection Rotational training between departments Data Entry Willing to train between our Mississippi and Alabama GGP Complexes May perform other tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor Job Qualifications: BS in Poultry Science or related field (preferred) Basic computer skills Ability to calculate feed, manage and weigh birds, prioritize work schedules, solve problems relating to growth, performance, etc Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends – on call 24 hours a day Must be self-motivated with ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills Team oriented Current driver’s license Two years of poultry experience preferred We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
