Shipping and Receiving Clerk

• Merrill, WI, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Manufacturing, The purpose of this position is to monitor all shipping and receiving activities at both plant and off-site warehouse’s. The main objective is to verify and record all incoming and outgoing shipments as well as prepare items for shipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Compare identifying information and counts, weights or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records. Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates. Correctly prepare all outgoing shipments for pick-up.

Coordinate shipping and receiving with third party shipping companies. Oversee all Fed-Ex, UPS, or other special mail shipments. Oversee and handle all incoming shipments. Route incoming shipments to correct storage or work areas.

Qualifications

Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and delivery truck. Inventory control procedures. Ability to prepare bills of lading and packing lists. Ability to lift 50 pounds. EXPERIENCE: Must be a high school graduate. Computer input skills. Microsoft Windows, Word, and excel. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Employee Training Required: Basic Safety Forklift Operation and Safety Use of Pallet Jack and Delivery Truck Reading Bills of Lading, orders invoices and Packing Slips Shipping Procedures Preparing Outgoing Shipments—Wrapping, Packing, and Documenting etc… Trailer Inspection QC Training- Inspection of Incoming Shipments Inventory Management and Proper Routing of Incoming Shipments Communication Skills Microsoft Word and Excel Training ISO Awareness / Quality Objectives
