JOB DESCRIPTION BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Status: Full time Pay Grade: M-10 SUPERVISION Supervision Received : Works independently under the of the Human Resources Director. Supervision Given: None. DESCRIPTION A Benefits Administrator oversees and manages employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and effective communication to employees.

They handle tasks like enrollment, claims processing, and resolving benefit-related issues, contributing to employee satisfaction and well-being. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and knowledge of benefits regulations are crucial for this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Managing employee benefits programs such as health insurance and retirement plans Facilitating employee enrollment, processing changes, and managing terminations in benefit plans. Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements (e.g., ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA). Process monthly billings and administrative fees for all group plans accurately and timely.

Serve as primary contact with carriers and third-party administrators, responds to benefits inquiries from employees relating to status changes, plan provisions, and other general inquiries. Explaining benefit options to employees, conducting orientations, and addressing inquiries. Maintaining relationships with benefit vendors.

Serves as the point of contact for FMLA related questions and processing. Maintaining accurate records, generating reports, and analyzing benefits data. Investigating and resolving benefit-related issues, including claim disputes. Assisting in the development and implementation of new benefit programs and policies. Completes verification of employment and unemployment claims.

May serve as the backup for Payroll. Completes court orders and subpoenas. Conducts I-9 audits and documentation. Other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Director MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in benefits administration or a similar role Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in documentation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex compliance topics. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Applications i.e. Excel, Word, and Power Point are strongly preferred. Possess strong ability in exercising good independent judgment, paying attention to details, prioritizing and handling multiple tasks and projects concurrently PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
