• Torrance, CA, Position Type: Part Time (up to 29 hours), Salary Range: $18.47 - $18.47Hourly, Travel Percentage: Road Warrior, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Senior/Active Older Adult Programs, POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Site Manager, the Home Delivery Coordinator/Case Worker is responsible for the overall management and administration of the Home Delivered Meal Program, assists the Site Manager in the operation of the Congregate Meal Service and substitutes for other Congregate Site Managers as needed. The scope of responsibility includes, but is not limited to, staff development and guidance, volunteer development, member involvement and satisfaction, new client assessments and quarterly reassessments of existing clients, delivery route management and meal packing and delivery plus program supervision, promotion and development. The Home-Delivered Meal Service Case Worker will conduct an in-home evaluation of a Client’s needs and identify the Activities of Daily Living, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, and other limitations that impede independent living.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Drives bus safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws. Abide by all traffic laws while driving You are solely responsible for any traffic tickets incurred and depending on the nature of the violation, it could lead to dismissal. Completes thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and record all information.

Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms. Cleans out bus each day. Maintain all required documentation in an orderly and neat fashion (i.e. routing sheets, mileage records, etc.) Promotes safety at all times by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked. Ensures that bus rules are announced and followed.

Communicates regularly with other staff members and supervisor. Assist with other program areas, camp operations/maintenance, etc. while not driving. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required. Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting and risk management. Certification in CPR, First Aid and AED is required and must remain current at all times and have the physical capacity to lift and carry the delivery boxes and any other such equipment needed. Certification in Serv-Safe Food Handling must remain current at all times (certification completed within 3 months of hire if needed).

Possess strong skills in program development and management, special event management, staff supervision and development, member involvement and satisfaction, oral and written communication and volunteer development. Knowledge and experience required for the management of staff, office and business systems, program resources and schedules of the department.

Knowledge and experience with L.A. County Area Agency on Aging Home Delivery program management as well as their computer intake system. Must have the ability to lead and maintain an exceptional level of member service and satisfaction, relate to staff and the general public. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, co-workers, volunteers, members and the general public is essential.
