Job Description – Account Manager | IT Staffing Industry: Staffing & Workforce Solutions Experience: 4–6 Years Location: Kolkata Employment Type: Full-Time Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Account Manager – IT Staffing to manage and grow key IT staffing accounts and serve as the primary point of contact for clients.

The role will be responsible for end-to-end account management, from client requirement understanding and onboarding through workforce deployment, payroll coordination, billing, compliance, employee lifecycle management and exit/closure. The Account Manager will also be responsible for managing and coordinating the mapped HR Operations team members supporting the respective accounts, ensuring timely service delivery and resolution of client and employee requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Client & Account Management Act as the primary point of contact for assigned IT staffing clients. Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with client HR, business and functional stakeholders. Understand client workforce requirements, processes, SLAs and expectations. Conduct regular client connects/reviews and track account health. Proactively identify and resolve service issues and escalations. Ensure timely communication and closure of all client requirements.
  2. End-to-End Requirement Management Manage client requirements from requirement receipt to fulfilment, deployment and closure. Coordinate with internal recruitment/sourcing teams for manpower requirements. Track demand, deployment, replacements, transfers and workforce movement. Ensure agreed TATs and SLAs are consistently met. Maintain accurate account-level trackers, reports and MIS.
  3. HR Operations Team Management Manage and monitor the performance of mapped HR Operations team members supporting the accounts. Allocate/track operational responsibilities and ensure timely closure of employee and client requests. Review pending tickets, escalations and operational exceptions. Ensure effective coordination between Account Management, HR Ops, Payroll, Compliance, Recruitment and Finance teams. Conduct regular reviews with the mapped HR Ops team.
  4. Payroll & Employee Lifecycle Management Oversee monthly payroll coordination for deployed employees. Ensure attendance, timesheets, payroll inputs and exceptions are accurately captured and closed within timelines. Coordinate resolution of salary, leave, attendance, statutory deduction and payroll-related queries. Monitor employee onboarding, documentation, joining formalities and deployment. Oversee employee transfers, re-joining, contract extensions and other lifecycle movements. Ensure smooth exit and Full & Final (F&F) processes.
  5. Billing, Invoicing & Collections Coordinate and oversee monthly billing and invoice generation. Validate billing inputs against approved attendance, timesheets, rates and contractual terms. Coordinate with Finance for timely invoice submission to clients. Track outstanding invoices and collections. Resolve billing discrepancies and client queries related to invoices. Monitor account profitability and commercial adherence.
  6. Contracts & Commercial Management Coordinate client agreements, amendments, renewals and commercial documentation. Track contract validity, commercials, rate revisions and renewals. Ensure billing and service delivery are aligned with agreed contractual terms. Highlight commercial risks and opportunities to management.
  7. Compliance & Governance Ensure employee onboarding and deployment are compliant with applicable statutory and client requirements. Coordinate PF, ESIC, KYC, BGV, labour-law and other compliance requirements with relevant teams. Track compliance audits, documentation and closure of observations. Ensure client-specific compliance requirements are monitored and fulfilled.
  8. Exit & Closure Management Manage employee separation and client-requested exits. Ensure timely communication of LWD, exit formalities, asset recovery and F&F. Coordinate employee replacement requirements where applicable. Ensure account-level closure of all exit-related actions.
  9. MIS & Performance Reporting Prepare and review account MIS covering: Headcount and deployment Attrition and replacements Payroll status Billing & collections Compliance Open issues/tickets Client requirements Account profitability Present account performance and key risks to leadership. Desired Candidate Profile 4–6 years of experience in IT staffing / RPO / managed workforce / recruitment services / manpower outsourcing. Strong experience managing enterprise IT clients. Good understanding of staffing operations, employee lifecycle and payroll coordination. Experience in client relationship and stakeholder management. Strong commercial understanding of billing, invoicing and contracts. Experience managing HR Ops/operations teams will be preferred. Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities and escalations independently.
