Insider Threat Investigator

Insider Threat Investigator Location: Springfield, VA Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph after hire ABOUT THE ROLE As an Insider Threat Investigator, you will triage, conduct, and support insider threat investigations for a federal client, evaluating complaints of fraud, waste, and abuse, data spills, and network penetrations.

This is hands-on investigative work in a classified environment, developing the procedures and countermeasures that protect ongoing operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Investigate complaints of fraud, waste, and abuse, data spills, and network penetrations, and respond to related computer and cyber security incidents Evaluate system and program security vulnerabilities and develop procedures, countermeasures, requirements, and designs that satisfy program security policy and planning guidance Monitor implementation of security requirements for Government and Industry facilities and systems, and participate in technical meetings and working groups on related issues Develop and deliver professional investigative and analytical reports and briefings REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph after hire (if not already held) 2+ years of federal law enforcement, IC, security, or general law enforcement investigations or operations experience Demonstrated experience developing and delivering professional-level reports, memorandums, information, briefings, and/or recommendations that support inquiries and investigations Demonstrated successful implementation of Government security requirements Self-motivated, disciplined, and mature professional capable of operating with little tasking and oversight in a diverse environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, counterintelligence, criminal justice, engineering, fraud investigations, information technology, mathematics, or a related scientific field Successful graduation from FLETC, DCITA, JCITA, or another formal DoD or US Federal Government analysis course or program ABOUT SPHINX Sphinx is a mission-focused intelligence, counterintelligence, and cyber solutions firm founded in 2018 by professionals from the Special Operations, Intelligence, and Cyber Warfare communities.
