Job Description: The Coil Winder is responsible for maintaining production goals and meeting quality standards through productivity targets by operating machines and related tools.
Responsibilities
Reports to Dept Manager Assemble magnet components of various sizes, materials, and shape according to specifications and blueprints. Produces quality product within the scheduled hours Disassemble, clean, and inspect used magnet components. Works with wire, copper, and aluminum, and various other metals Operates, controls and adjusts machine settings (e.
g. speed, brake, height, etc.) Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components. Ensure all assembled products meet quality standards and specifications. Identify and troubleshoot issues during the assembly process. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform precise assembly tasks.
Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition and safely stored when not in use. Clean, degrease, and decontaminate magnet components and materials using solvents, detergents, or cleaning solutions to remove residues, contaminants, and impurities. Adherence to all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards Performs other related work as assigned by Department Manager and Plant Manager Always adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of hazardous materials.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational, technical, or on-site training Prior experience in Manufacturing Equipment Operation Ability to occasionally reach overhead, bend, stoop, squat, push, pull, carry, ascend & descend stairs. Prior experience in aluminum & copper soldering is preferred. Ability to occasionally lift / carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 25 pounds without assistance. Ability to sit or stand for up to 4 hours continuously. Ability to read a tape measure, calipers and micrometers (preferred) Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures Basic computer, math, verbal, mechanical and analytical skills Prior experience in electrical equipment testing is preferred Prior experience in Forklift and Overhead Crane Operation is preferred.
Prior blueprint / mechanical drawing reading experience is preferred. Ability to recognize and safely operate hand & power tools.
