Software Integration & Automation Engineer - Connectivity
Job description
This position will function as a member of the Software Integration and Testing team within the PDT/SWE/IVDO organization. We are seeking an experienced engineer to take on a hands-on technical role focused on software integration, test automation, and build verification testing for automotive connectivity platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain test benches used for Build Verification Testing (BVT). Develop new automated test cases and update existing test suites to align with evolving specifications. Perform root cause analysis on Linux and Android systems, relating issues to software code changes and build configuration changes. Support software integration, validation, and troubleshooting activities across embedded automotive platforms.
Collaborate with software developers, integration teams, and validation engineers to ensure high-quality software releases. Document test procedures, findings, and integration activities. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in software development and testing using C/C++. Minimum 4 years of experience in software integration within Linux environments, including Yocto. Minimum 2 years of experience in software integration within Android environments. Minimum 4 years of experience in automated testing for embedded products.
Required Technical Skills Strong knowledge of: Python CMake Bash scripting Linux and Android command-line environments Standard Linux tools (SSH, shell utilities, etc.) Vector tools Experience with: Linux and Android debugging tools (GDB, ADB, etc.) Robot Framework Test Guide automation tool systemd Google Test or other unit testing frameworks Embedded & Automotive Knowledge Familiarity with embedded Linux software for automotive applications, particularly: Instrument Clusters Infotainment Systems Multimedia Systems Navigation Systems Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) Familiarity with rapid prototyping and board bring-up activities.
Knowledge of hardware interfaces, including: CAN CAN-FD LIN Automotive Ethernet Bluetooth USB Professional Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment. Strong documentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with software development, vehicle integration, and validation teams.
Preferred Qualifications
(Nice to Have) Deep knowledge of Test Guide. Deep knowledge of Vector CANoe and CAPL scripting. Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments. Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) systems and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools. Experience with build and test automation frameworks. Experience with Ethernet networking technologies, including: IEEE 802.
3 IEEE 802.1AS Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) Experience with cryptographic protocols, key management, chain-of-trust processing, and anti-spoofing techniques. Familiarity with automotive development processes such as ASPICE and the V-Model. Experience with: Power management Board diagnostics Fault management Failure mode analysis Experience with embedded platform services such as: Diagnostics Logging and tracing Client-server architectures Inter-process communication (IPC) mechanisms Experience benchmarking and analyzing system performance KPIs.
