Control Engineer (EU BV)

Position Scope The Control Engineer employs analytical and problem-solving skills to service comprehensive electrical control systems for automated production lines in the industrial food industry. The role requires the incumbent to be capable in the automation programming process from conceptualization through testing, analysis and refinement to implementation.

The ideal candidate will have an Electrical Engineering, or Automation or Mechatronics background, an excellent personality, superior communication skills, and be open-minded to new ideas and challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Commission and troubleshoot PLC/HMI programs Develop PLC/HMI programs for various machines Set up VFDs, servo and instrument systems Provide direction to junior staff members Lead and execute small to mid-sized automation projects Qualifications & Abilities Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or Automation or Mechatronics Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation programming Solid knowledge of PLC languages (Allen Bradley, RX Logix 5000, 500, Siemens TIA Portal) and HMIs (RS Studio) Knowledge or ability to create schematics, wiring, and layout drawings Knowledge of electrical and control design areas, including power distribution, system studies, control systems, variable frequency drives, PLC, DCS, HMI systems, would be an asset Experience with applying and troubleshooting wiring and electronics controls Presentation skills, with the ability to span both technical and non-technical audiences Excellent prioritization skills with minimal guidance and direction Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial equipment Experience troubleshooting and responding to customer concerns Excellent English verbal and written communication Travel availability up to 120 days annually FPS Food Process Solutions Corporation is an equal opportunity employer, and we thank you for your interest in the position.
