Requirements

/ Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and 48 units of college level coursework or associate’s degree or verification of meeting NCLB requirements.
• Ability to read, write and speak at a level sufficient to fulfill the assigned duties.
• Ability to communicate with and effectively supervise students.
• Ability to accept directions and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to maintain a cooperative working relationship with others. Brief Description of Position:
• Responsible for assisting in preparing and supervising pupil work areas.
• Responsible for assisting individual or small groups with assigned activities.
• Responsible for assisting in checking papers and preparing instructional materials.
• Responsible for performing such other related duties and clerical work as may be assigned by the principal.
• Enforces the school rules concerning proper behavior of students.
• Maintains a firm but respectful and courteous attitude toward students.
• Perform other related duties as assigned. NCLB compliance may be met in one of the following ways: An associate’s degree or higher degree, or at least 48 semester units of coursework from an institution of higher education, or verification of passing a Local Assessment Test for Instructional Aide or equivalent from an accepted organization. Other Information: Tentative shift hours are 8:00am – 3:00pm / 8:00am – 2:00pm and are subject to change; the total hours scheduled each day are accurate. Comments and Other Information Fingerprinting for the purpose of conducting a background clearance will be required prior to employment.
