Tech Lead

Position Summary

We’re hiring a Full Stack Team Lead with software architecture experience to provide both hands-on full stack development and strategic architectural direction for our Java development initiatives. This is a senior, hands-on role: you’ll help set technical direction and architect solutions while staying technically involved yourself.

You’ll also bring strong, practical AI skills, using AI coding assistants and agents every day to design, build, test, and ship, and showing the team how to do the same. It’s a highly impactful position, ideal for a seasoned Solutions Architect who thrives in fast-paced, agile environments and enjoys helping others.

Essential Functions

and Responsibilities Serve as the team lead across architecture, development, and DevOps functions. Work hands-on with AI coding assistants and agents in your daily development, from design and implementation through testing, code review, and troubleshooting, and lead by example in how to use them well. Own the architecture, design, and scalability of enterprise-grade applications.

Help drive best practices in coding, test automation, API design, and performance tuning. Translate business requirements into secure, reliable, and scalable solutions. Oversee the integration of RESTful and SOAP-based services with modern authentication (SAML, Ping. Federate). Guide API documentation and testing workflows using Postman and Swagger.

Carry out integration and unit testing of the functionality you develop, and troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, staging, and production. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system interoperability and delivery. Share practical AI workflows, prompts, and patterns with the team so effective AI-assisted development becomes part of how everyone works.

Federate) API quality : APIs are consistently documented and tested through Postman and Swagger workflows AI-assisted development : you use AI coding tools and agents effectively in your own work, and the team adopts the workflows you demonstrate Stability : issues across development, staging, and production environments are identified and resolved Delivery : systems interoperate seamlessly and the team delivers in step with cross-functional partners Required Skills, Education, and Experience A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field At least 7 years of experience in enterprise application development and architecture Strong, hands-on use of AI in software development: coding assistants and agents (e.

g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor), agentic workflows, and AI-assisted testing, debugging, and code review. You should be able to demonstrate this live, with real examples of how it has made you more effective Good judgment on AI output: knowing when to trust it, how to verify it, and how to keep code quality, security, and maintainability high Expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring / Spring Boot framework Strong experience with Angular, React.

js, JavaScript, and Node.js Experience with REST, JSON, GraphQL, and SOAP integrations Proficiency in AWS, including EC2, S3, SNS, Secrets Manager, and Cognito Deep understanding of databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DynamoDB Familiarity with DevOps tools and automation frameworks, including Ansible Experience with system authentication protocols such as SAML and Ping.

Federate Skilled in API design and testing (Postman, Swagger) and testing automation, including automated unit and integration tests Experience with Git, CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and containerization (Docker is a plus) Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in security-focused design and identity management.

A background in enterprise reporting and legacy-to-modern tech migrations. Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Cloud. Watch and Datadog. Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban. Experience building custom AI tooling for your team (agents, integrations, or reusable prompts). Using AI to accelerate legacy-to-modern migrations.

AWS certifications (Developer, Solutions Architect). Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, during normal core business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Compensation

The good faith compensation range for this role is $130,000-$140,000 CAD annually.

Compensation

will be commensurate with experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Other Duties Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time according to business needs.
