Engineering Technician (Civil)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Incumbent ensures navigability of District waterways, by conducting hydrographic surveys, supporting the unmanned aircraft program, coordinating equipment and vessel maintenance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri. Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience for GS-07 : One year of specialized experience which includes meeting the following: 1) coordinating preventative maintenance and safety of equipment; 2) using surveying techniques and guidelines; AND 3. Working in a team environment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Specialized Experience for GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting the following:

1. Using surveying techniques and guidelines;
2. Analyzing and interpreting field data results; AND 3) assisting with preventative maintenance and/or safety procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Specialized Experience for GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting the following:
3. Using surveying techniques and guidelines;
4. Operating, troubleshooting, and/or maintaining a wide range of field surveying instruments; AND
5. Coordinating survey operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Qualification Requirement: Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
