About the role

The Reality Capture Specialist is responsible for independently managing and operating Nav. Vis, VLX or MLX LiDAR scanning systems to capture and document construction progress and produce 3D point cloud data that helps project teams track the progress, identify discrepancies, and document site conditions. These scanning activities and deliverables will facilitate client scheduling and site operations, fulfill capture requirements for planning, pre-installation, active construction, and post-installation verification, as required by client and project needs What you'll do Project & Team Coordination Establish and manage SOPs (standard operating procedures), scanning schedules, frequencies, and scan-based workflows per client requirements and project needs.

The resource shall coordinate scan capture activities with client leadership, field supervision, quality teams, project management personnel, and other authorized project stakeholders as necessary to support reality capture implementation, while minimizing disruption to ongoing construction. Reporting & Documentation Generate project reports using captured reality data, track and document physical construction progress, identify and communicate relevant field conditions and discrepancies, and present results / findings to project stakeholders.

The resource will support delivery of point cloud and scan-based outputs for downstream project use, ensuring all captured data is archived and backed up in accordance with HCG and client company standards, and ensuring captured data is complete, accurate, and meets project requirements. The resource will also act as a technical advisor to client leadership regarding LiDAR operations, scan planning, field implementation strategy, data capture methodology, and scan-based project support.

Collaborate with surveyors to obtain surveyed control points for geolocated datasets. Hansen Consulting Group LLC does not warrant or guarantee the elimination of clashes, conflicts, rework, schedule impacts, or cost impacts arising from construction means, methods, sequencing, or trade execution. The resource may coordinate with external third-party survey entities regarding survey targets or control-related needs, however HCG shall not be responsible for the establishment, verification, or accuracy of survey control.

HCG shall not provide or operate survey equipment under this proposal. The resource shall not be responsible for correcting incomplete, inaccurate, or late inputs from third parties.

Qualifications

Experience flying drones (UAS) for aerial capture, with a valid remote pilot certification (e.g., FAA Part 107 or local equivalent) Ability to capture, process, and QA 3D point cloud data, including drone photogrammetry and aerial imagery Familiarity with point cloud and BIM tools (e.g., Nav. Vis IVION, Re. Cap, Navisworks, Revit) Working knowledge of survey control points and geolocating datasets Understanding of construction phases and ability to spot discrepancies against plans Experience tracking progress and producing clear reports from scan and aerial data Skill in building SOPs, scan schedules, and scan-based workflows Strong data management: archiving and backups per client standards Stakeholder coordination with leadership, field supervisors, quality, and PMs Ability to act as a technical advisor on LiDAR and aerial capture methodology and scan planning Independent, detail-oriented, and adaptable to active job site About Hansen Consulting Group LLC Hansen Consulting Group (HCG) is a specialized integrator focused on aligning people, process, and technology across the full project lifecycle, not simply producing 3D models.
