Fitness Assistant

Full-Time / Non-exempt / 8:00AM - 4:30PM / Pay Based on Experience Bring Your Energy. Inspire Wellness. Make a Difference! Menno Haven is looking for an enthusiastic, creative Fitness Assistant to engage residents and support wellness programs in our vibrant senior living community.

What You'll Do

Conduct group fitness classes and wellness activities designed for older adults of varying abilities. Bring ideas to life: Help develop creative programs that encourage participation, connection, and healthy living. Support whole-person wellness: Promote physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being. Build relationships: Get to know residents, encourage their wellness goals, and celebrate their progress.

Work as a team: Collaborate with coworkers and other departments to create engaging resident experiences. Maintain safe spaces: Help keep fitness areas, equipment, and program spaces clean, organized, and welcoming.

What You'll Bring

2+ years of experience in wellness, fitness, or a related field, preferred. 2+ years of experience working with older adults, preferred. An energetic, approachable personality with a passion for helping others thrive. Confidence and enthusiasm for leading group exercise classes and engaging residents with varying abilities.

Creativity, initiative, and a willingness to share ideas and try new approaches. Strong communication, relationship-building, and teamwork skills. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHR). Working knowledge of fitness and wellness equipment. Licensure/Certifications: High school diploma or GED, required.

Current CPR + First Aid certification, required. Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), required. Lifeguard certification, Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program (AFAP) certification, group exercise, personal training, or comparable fitness certification, preferred.
