Job description
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides comprehensive respiratory care, diagnostics, and therapeutics to patients of all age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Under the direction of providers, in collaboration with the healthcare team, the RRT assesses, implements, and monitors respiratory therapy interventions, including oxygen therapy, bronchial hygiene techniques, chest physiotherapy (CPT), airway management, mechanical ventilation, pulmonary rehabilitation, pulmonary function testing, electrocardiography (EKG), and arterial blood gas (ABG) collection.
This role ensures patient safety, comfort, optimal cardiopulmonary function while maintaining compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based guidelines.
