Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Key Responsibilities

**

• Patient Monitoring: ** Assess, observe, and continuously monitor post-anesthesia patients, closely tracking vital signs and levels of consciousness.

• Airway Management: ** Ensure patient airway patency and assess for any immediate post-operative complications.

• Pain Management: ** Administer prescribed medications and execute comfort measures for effective pain management and nausea control.

• Collaboration: ** Partner closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the broader healthcare team to coordinate seamless patient care.

• Discharge & Education: ** Educate patients and their families regarding post-surgery recovery and at-home care instructions.

Qualifications

**

• Education: ** Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program; BSN preferred.

• License/Certification: ** Active, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.

• Certifications Required: ** BLS required within 90 days of hire; ACLS and PALS must be obtained prior to completion of orientation.

• Experience: ** Minimum of 1-2 years of RN experience required, with prior critical care or PACU hospital experience.
