About the Role
NLG is seeking an experienced Group Manager to oversee multiple construction projects and project teams while driving operational excellence across the organization. This leadership role is responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial and institutional construction , particularly K-12 schools, higher education, municipal, or similar public-sector projects .
Experience managing multiple project managers and collaborating with field operations is highly preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 7+ years of construction project or program management experience with progressive leadership responsibilities Proven experience leading multiple projects and project teams Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and operational planning Experience using project management and business intelligence tools to drive performance Commercial and institutional construction experience required (K-12, higher education, municipal, healthcare, or similar projects preferred) Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or MBA PMP, Six Sigma, or similar professional certification Experience leading large, complex construction programs Experience working in a matrixed organization Background in digital transformation or process improvement initiatives Key Responsibilities Lead multiple project teams to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget Develop and oversee project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation Mentor and support Project Managers while promoting accountability and operational excellence Monitor project financial performance, productivity, and key performance metrics Partner with operations, field leadership, and executive management to ensure project success Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and overall project delivery Foster strong client relationships and support business growth initiatives Ideal Candidate We're looking for a proven construction leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys developing teams while managing complex commercial and institutional projects.
The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, strong financial and operational acumen, and a track record of successfully delivering large-scale construction projects while building lasting client relationships.
