- Radiology Procedures Mercy. One Waterloo Medical Center | Waterloo, Iowa Mercy. One Northeast Iowa is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing Radiology team in Waterloo, Iowa. This is a unique opportunity for an APP interested in developing advanced procedural skills while working alongside an experienced team of radiologists and interventional radiology specialists. This position will focus primarily on procedural care, helping improve patient access, turnaround times, and overall efficiency within our Radiology Department. New graduates with strong procedural aptitude are encouraged to apply. Opportunity Highlights Full-time employed position Monday-Friday schedule, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM No call responsibilities No weekend coverage No after-hours coverage Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package Extensive one-on-one procedural training and mentorship Opportunity to build specialized procedural expertise in Radiology Position Overview The APP will work collaboratively with the Radiology team to perform a variety of diagnostic and image-guided procedures under established departmental protocols and privileges. This role is heavily procedural with limited clinical consults and rounding responsibilities. Following successful completion of training and competency requirements, the APP will perform approved procedures independently within granted privileges.
Responsibilities
Perform approved image-guided and diagnostic procedures in accordance with departmental privileges Evaluate patients prior to procedures Obtain informed consent Provide patient education and procedural instructions Manage post-procedure care and follow-up Collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and imaging technologists Assist with more complex interventional radiology procedures as appropriate Support quality, patient safety, and workflow improvement initiatives Participate in limited consultative and rounding activities as needed Training & Mentorship Mercy.
