Job Summary

The Floating Security Officer provides flexible security coverage across multiple client sites and locations as needed. This role ensures the safety and security of people, property, and assets by maintaining a professional presence, conducting patrols, monitoring security systems, and responding to incidents. Floating Officers must be adaptable, reliable, and prepared to perform unarmed duties based on assignment requirements.

Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to deter and detect unauthorized activity or safety hazards. Control access to facilities by verifying identification and credentials. Monitor alarms, surveillance systems, and security equipment. Respond quickly and effectively to incidents, alarms, emergencies, and disturbances.

Enforce site-specific policies, rules, and regulations professionally and fairly. Deliver exceptional customer service while interacting with clients, employees, visitors, and the public. Complete clear, accurate, and timely reports on incidents and daily activities. Liaise with local law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary.

Remain flexible and prepared to work different shifts, locations, and site types on short notice. Attend and complete all required training, including site-specific orientations and firearms qualifications if applicable.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred. Ability to work at different locations and adapt to diverse site requirements. Excellent communication, observation, and problem-solving skills. Strong commitment to customer service and professionalism. Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.

Must pass background check, drug screening, and any required psychological evaluations. Physically capable of standing, walking, or driving for extended periods and responding rapidly to incidents. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if driving between sites is required). Flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and last-minute assignments.
