We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to be responsible for the daily maintenance of the equipment, building and grounds, mobile equipment, and other functions as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or General Manager (GM). Regular maintenance is crucial to maintaining productivity, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safety and smooth operations. This position will also be responsible for setting up machines based on technical instructions and blueprints and will occasionally move machines to different locations. This position uses specialized tools on a daily basis.

The type of work performed for this position includes, but is not limited to, mechanical, basic electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and fabrication. This is a labor-intensive position that requires heavy lifting. Individuals are regularly on their feet throughout their shift and may work at heights as required. Safety is a priority.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

& RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure all equipment is in safe operating condition and available for production so that the branch can consistently meet and satisfy customer needs. Oversee and conduct all timely PM (Preventive Maintenance) tasks, including but not limited to, identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces, lubricating mechanical parts, and logging and documenting associated activities for future reference and tracking.

Maintain building and grounds in a safe and clean condition for employees, guests, and customers. Serve as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for all third-party vendors as it relates to coordination of work and payment. Manage mobile and material handling asset maintenance/repair (forklifts, combi lifts,standup lifts, pallet jacks, etc.)

through vendors or other appropriate means. Provide Cap. Ex and ongoing recommendations for equipment upgrades, replacement, and/or modifications. Coordinate with branch management on various contract renewals in order to keep equipment and facilities operational and kept up to current standards. Support CI/Op-Ex processes, improvements, and other related functions as needed.

Proactively conduct equipment inspections and safety audits per branch policy and/or as outlined in company best practices. Participate in all JHA/JSA reviews, revisions, and improvements. Identify and repair problematic machine parts by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts. Understand that the regular maintenance of our machines and facilities ensures that all equipment, systems, and infrastructure are functioning optimally, which reduces the risk of breakdowns, malfunctions, and disruptions to operations.

Work to maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized environment while achieving department productivity goals. Understand and follow Ore. Pac safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate a commitment to working safely and following OSHA guidelines related to Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), forklift operation, machine guarding, and all other applicable laws and regulations.

Responsible for facility maintenance and ensuring the safety of occupants, visitors, and the public. Perform regular inspections of fire, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems. Use machines or equipment (such as forklifts) to move mechanical parts. Assigned forklift duties will first require taking and passing a forklift training course and obtaining a certificate.

Forklift duties will include staging and/or stacking material neatly and safely, operating the forklift in a safe manner, filling the with propane fuel, and regularly checking the forklift fluid levels.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Strong mechanical and technical skills. Ability to effectively read and interpret documents such as specifications, machine manuals, electrical schematics, and blueprints and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Proficiency in troubleshooting techniques to solve equipment issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports, track maintenance metrics as required, and communicate effectively with peers, superiors, vendors, and other individuals/groups both inside and outside the company.

Knowledge of PLC’s, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Skilled at safely and properly using a broad range of power and hand tools. Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders including, but not limited to, engineers, plant managers, and parts vendors. Ability to adhere to all facets of safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by Ore.

Pac’s safety program. Ability to perform all essential responsibilities of the job in a safe manner, cognizance of and ability to assess safety risks. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a team or individually with minimal supervision while achieving quality and timely completion of assigned tasks.

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Conduct Welding and metal fabrication projects to support facility maintenance, equipment repairs and operational improvements while following all safety procedures.
