Lead Utility Surveyor
Job description
We’re working with a well-established surveying and infrastructure services provider with strong roots in the rail sector. Due to continued project wins across the North West, they are seeking a Lead Utility Surveyor to join their expanding team. While the company is rail-focused, prior rail experience is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver PAS 128 utility surveys across a range of sites Plan and manage on-site survey operations, ensuring data quality and safety compliance Work with EML and GPR equipment to map buried services accurately Oversee and mentor junior surveyors and technicians on site Liaise with clients and project managers to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met Assist with data processing, reporting, and QA/QC reviews Support integration of utility data into CAD and BIM environments Requirements ✔ 3–5 years’ experience delivering utility surveys (rail or non-rail environments) ✔ Strong working knowledge of PAS 128 methodology, EML, GPR, and GNSS equipment ✔ Able to manage and prioritise work across multiple projects ✔ Confident communicator, capable of leading small teams on-site ✔ CAD proficiency is advantageous; familiarity with N4CE, AutoCAD, or similar a bonus ✔ Full UK driving licence required
