Sr. Automation Controls Manager
Job description
Scope: The Sr. Automation Controls Manager oversees the integrity of the Liquids automation and control production systems and their associated components. He/she achieves these objectives by employing knowledge of automated controls, understanding theory of operation, and process flow, and material properties. The objective of this role is to focus on improving Liquids production Efficiency through investment scope, scale up, startups, product transfers, etc.
Essential Duties
Work within the Engineering and Asset Care Department to support daily production needs and continuous improvement efforts Responsible for Controls Technician Team supporting 3 shift operation. Diagnose and solve control systems issues using standard trouble-shooting tools and techniques Provide first-line support for Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi Automation Products and Platforms Provide applicable training to members of the controls and Asset Care teams.
Record, track, and document support requests, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made as well as actions taken through to final resolution Learn on the job when faced with new challenges / questions Build and maintain an advanced level of knowledge of Beckhoff, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Fanuc, Mitsubishi automation products and related technologies Responsible for all other duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications: BS Degree in Electrical, Controls, or Automation Engineering 5+ years' experience in electrical controls engineer position; specifically including manufacturing industry experience in the design of control panels, and electrical circuits; integration of highly automated machines and processes preferred Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical and scientific product-related information.
Knowledge and understanding of Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens control systems Experience in PID Control Loop tunning Scada development and tag creation for data historization Ability to read and write structured text, Ladder Logic, Twin. Cat 2&3. Knowledge and understanding of additional platforms such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider preferred Ability to read electrical schematics, P&ID, construction drawings, and other technical documents.
Experience in Aseptic food manufacturing environment. MS Office, MS Project, MS Excel, AutoCAD Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed. Physical Demands: Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions Must be available to work occasional extended hours or weekends Must possess visual acuity to document company records Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
