Senior Regulatory Reporter

The Role: Mergermarket, the leading provider of news and analysis on mergers & acquisitions and equity capital markets, is looking to hire a full-time senior reporter to cover Chinese government policy and regulatory developments, with a focus on merger control, especially antitrust reviews of large, publicly traded companies.

The beat will also require coverage of foreign direct investment, outbound investment, and national security review processes. This is an exciting opportunity to cover global high-profile transactions. Developing a strong contact book of domestic and international sources will be essential for the reporter, through calls and attending both domestic and international events.

The role will be based in Beijing or Shanghai, and require domestic and international travel. As part of the global M&A team, they will work closely with our Dealreporter and PaRR publication reporters around the world to break market-moving scoops and deliver exclusive insights to our audience. The successful candidate must also be a collaborative team player, as the role involves regular coordination and close collaboration with journalists across the globe.
