BMR Yard/PM Technician

Introduction: Big Mike’s Rental Sales & Services is a complete rental service for contractors and homeowners. This document outlines the requirements, reporting structure, authority, responsibilities, and duties of the BMR Yard/PM Technician. Role Overview: The BMR Yard/PM Technician supports the daily operations by preventing downtime at our equipment rental yard.

This role focuses on inspections, preventative maintenance, and yard organization. The ideal candidate is mechanically incline, safety-focused, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required . Class C Driver’s License required . 1-2 years experience in a preventative maintenance role required . Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools required . Forklift operations experience preferred . Knowledge and Skills Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

Ability to safely operate, move, load, unload, and secure equipment and cargo. Ability to identify equipment damage, wear, leaks, and safety hazards and report issues appropriately. Strong attention to safety, customer service, communication, and maintaining an organized work environment. Work Environment This is a full-time position requiring availability Monday through Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM with rotational Saturdays 8:00AM - 2:00PM.

This job is a combination of shop, yard, and off-site delivery work. Exposure to dust, extreme weather conditions, and cryogenic liquids or gases is possible. Competencies Effective communication Action oriented Situational adaptability Ensures accountability Strong customer focus and team orientation Time management Responsibilities and Duties Perform basic equipment repairs, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and minor adjustments.

Perform routine preventative maintenance and replace work components such as belts, hoses, seals, and filters. Adjust and maintain belts, chains, motors, pulleys, sensors, clearances, and tolerances as needed. Identify and report leaks, damage, worn parts, and other equipment issues to management. Load, unload, and properly secure equipment throughout the yard and prepare rental equipment to ensure it is clean, safe, and operational.

Maintain a safe and orderly yard by removing debris, addressing hazards, and reporting potholes or property damage. Inspect and maintain gates, fences, access points, and yard lighting; replace non-working lights as needed. Maintain grounds by trimming weeds and removing overgrown brush around fences, buildings, and equipment areas.

Empty trash bins and perform snow and ice removal as needed. Provide occasional delivery and pickup of rental equipment at local job sites or customer locations when needed. Follow safe work practices and properly use required personal protective equipment. Communicate effectively and contribute to a professional, collaborative work environment.

Provide exceptional customer service by promptly acknowledging and assisting customers. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary company information. Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory duties Physical Demands: The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

This role is physically active requiring lifting, bending, and frequent standing. Sitting, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching (including above shoulder level), gripping, and carrying. Employees must be able to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and manipulate objects. Climbing stairs is required.

The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Work conditions include exposure to dust and extreme weather conditions. The employee must have adequate visual acuity, including near and far vision and depth perception, to safely perform job duties.
