(1893) Manager: EFT, Tellers and Loan Schemes
Job description
The main purpose of this position is to provide managerial leadership for the Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT), Tellers, Loan Schemes Section and to ensure the valid, accurate and timely processing of banking transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas: Compile the section’s operational plan and take responsibility for the implementation as well as the monitoring thereof.
Develop and implement processes, standards, methods tools and internal controls to manage risk and ensure validity and accurate banking transactions. Define, plan and allocate work for others in the team in alignment with departmental and operational plans. Manage the accounting function in line with accounting and South African Reserve Bank (SARB) policies, relevant accounting standards and applicable legislation.
Fulfil the line management function pertaining to development and performance of the team. Oversee and manage EFT, Tellers, Loan Schemes Section by clarifying roles and responsibilities and optimising resources to its functions are delivered seamlessly. Analyse, provide reports and recommendations on loan schemes activities (financial performance, balances of loans) to various committees.
Design a reporting approach and provide consistent and accurate reports to senior management. Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, displaying the ability to lead senior-level engagements. Stay current with developments within the banking industry and ensure application thereof. Represent the Financial Services Department in forums, task teams and working groups and liaise with the SARB departments and subsidiaries to ensure payments and related matters comply with banking standards and requirements.
To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of: an Honours’ degree (NQF 8) in Banking, Finance or an equivalent qualification; 8−10 years’ experience within a banking or financial environment; and three to five years’ experience in a management position.
