Job description
Quality Assurance Clerk Karman Space & Defense is a leader in the rapid design, development, and production of critical, next-generation system solutions that align with the U.S. Department of War and its allies’ core mission priorities, and meet the accelerating demand for access to space. Building on nearly 50 years of success, we deliver Payload & Protection Systems, Aero/Hydrodynamic Interstage Systems, and Propulsion & Launch Systems to more than 80 prime contractors supporting over 130 space and defense programs.
This role is part of our Tactical Missiles and Integrated Defense Systems business, which designs and develops integrated missile and defense systems that support critical missions across air, land, and sea. We combine comprehensive analysis, engineering, and program execution capabilities to deliver mission-tailored solutions that reduce lead times, lower costs, and simplify complex multi-vendor supply chains.
Backed by decades of flight-proven and fielded performance, we design and build mission-critical technologies including launch systems, propulsion, payload integration solutions, UAV components, missile subsystems, and Safe & Arm systems. As a Quality Assurance Clerk, you will support manufacturing operations and the Quality Management System (QMS) by ensuring quality and manufacturing records are accurate, complete, traceable, and readily accessible.
Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, you will review inspection documentation, coordinate corrections, maintain controlled records, and prepare Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for customer requirements. Your attention to detail and commitment to data integrity will help maintain product conformity, support supplier documentation activities, and ensure audit readiness.
Responsibilities

Identifies documentation discrepancies and coordinates timely corrections with Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations, Supply Chain, and suppliers while preserving original inspection data and audit trails.
Maintains controlled quality and manufacturing records by scanning, indexing, filing, retrieving, and archiving documentation in approved electronic repositories and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Verifies accurate data entry and transfers between source documentation, ERP systems, quality databases, and customer portals, promptly reporting suspected data-integrity issues or unauthorized changes.
Maintains traceability of quality records to applicable part numbers, revisions, lots, serial numbers, work orders, purchase orders, suppliers, and customer requirements. Coordinates with suppliers to obtain and correct required quality documentation, including Cof. Cs, inspection reports, and material or process certifications.
Compiles, reviews, and verifies manufacturing and quality documentation to assemble complete TDPs and customer submittals. Collects, validates, and reports supplier performance and QMS metrics, including on-time delivery, quality performance, and documentation accuracy. Supports internal, customer, and regulatory audits by locating, verifying, and providing controlled records and objective evidence.
Protects confidential, proprietary, and controlled information while maintaining compliance with documented procedures, retention requirements, and applicable customer requirements. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) principles and controlled documentation practices.
Ability to review manufacturing and quality records for completeness, accuracy, required approvals, revision status, and product traceability. Understanding of documentation integrity, including accurate data entry, verification, indexing, scanning, storage, retrieval, and transfer of records while preserving original data and audit trails.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience using, or ability to learn, ERP systems, electronic document-management systems, quality databases, and customer portals. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to coordinate documentation corrections with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
Ability to follow established procedures, maintain confidentiality, protect controlled information, and retrieve accurate records for audits and customer reviews.
