Basketball Coordinator

Shipyard Sports and Events Center is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Basketball Coordinator to join our team. This role is hands-on and focused on helping players grow their skills through individual training, team clinics, leagues, and tournaments. Using our facility the Basketball Coordinator will help build strong programs and create a great experience for every athlete who walks through our doors.

Key Responsibilities

Run one-on-one training sessions focused on shooting, ball handling, defense, and overall fundamentals. Lead team clinics and small group workouts to improve teamwork, game awareness, and decision-making. Lead and grow our Club Basketball Program, including organizing and running tryouts, recruiting and managing coaches, and building out the season schedule and structure.

Plan and operate in-house basketball tournaments and events, including recruiting teams, securing officials, and overseeing game-day operations. Help organize and support leagues, camps, and other basketball programs hosted at the facility. Work closely with facility staff to coordinate scheduling, programs, and special events.

Qualifications

Experience coaching basketball, running skills training, or working in a similar role. Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, game strategy, and player development. Ability to lead, communicate clearly, and connect with athletes of different ages and skill levels. Experience organizing leagues, tournaments, or club programs is a plus.

Coaching or sports-related certifications are helpful but not required.
