We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and service-oriented Endoscopy Scheduler/Patient Navigator to serve as the primary guide for patients throughout their endoscopy journey.
This role plays a critical part in improving access to care, reducing barriers to treatment, supporting preventive screenings, and ensuring patients receive the information and support they need every step of the way.
What You'll Do
As the Endoscopy Scheduler/Patient Navigator, you will coordinate patient access to endoscopy services from referral through procedure completion. You will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, provider offices, physicians, and support departments while ensuring efficient scheduling, timely communication, and successful completion of pre-procedure requirements.
You will schedule outpatient and inpatient endoscopy procedures while managing provider schedules, procedure calendars, room utilization, and appointment availability.
Responsibilities include
coordinating urgent and priority procedures, managing waitlists, and offering earlier appointments when available to improve patient access. You will guide patients through every stage of the process, helping them understand procedure requirements, preparation instructions, scheduling expectations, and follow-up care recommendations.
Through proactive communication and outreach, you will help patients remain engaged and prepared for their procedures. This position identifies and helps resolve barriers that may impact a patient's ability to receive care, including transportation challenges, financial concerns, language barriers, preparation requirements, and other obstacles.
You will collaborate with internal departments and community resources to support patient success and reduce cancellations or delays. You will receive and process referrals, verify required documentation, coordinate with provider offices to obtain missing information, and monitor authorization requirements to ensure procedures are scheduled appropriately and in compliance with payer guidelines.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating pre-procedure testing, clearances, patient reminders, education efforts, recall programs, and surveillance initiatives designed to improve colorectal cancer screening and follow-up compliance. You will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, registration, financial services, and referring offices to ensure patients move efficiently through the continuum of care while receiving exceptional customer service and support.
What You'll Bring
You have experience in healthcare scheduling, patient access, registration, care coordination, patient navigation, medical office operations, or a related healthcare setting. You possess exceptional organizational skills and can successfully manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. You are skilled at building positive relationships with patients, providers, and healthcare team members through professional and compassionate communication.
You demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and can proactively identify solutions to barriers affecting patient care and access. You have experience working with electronic health records, scheduling systems, insurance processes, referrals, or authorization workflows. You are passionate about helping patients navigate the healthcare system and improving access to preventive and specialty care services.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Education, Certifications, Licensure High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Medical Office Administration, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in healthcare scheduling, patient access, patient navigation, referral coordination, insurance authorization, medical office operations, or a related healthcare role preferred.
Experience with electronic health records, scheduling systems, insurance verification, and referral management preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare workflows, patient privacy regulations, and customer service principles preferred.
