Job Description Summary : Summit Spine & Joint Centers is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join our clinical team. This position is responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures while assisting providers during in-office procedures. The ideal candidate will maintain the highest standards of patient care, safety, and imaging quality while working collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
This part-time position is based in Myrtle Beach, SC, and is initially scheduled for one day per week, with opportunities for additional hours as the clinic continues to grow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures as ordered by providers. Operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment to obtain quality images in accordance with physician specifications and established protocols. Assist physicians during procedures by maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments and supplies, and monitoring patient status.
Position patients appropriately and ensure comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures. Prepare procedure rooms and imaging equipment prior to scheduled procedures. Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and all federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Evaluate image quality and identify any technical concerns that may impact diagnostic outcomes. Provide compassionate, professional patient care while maintaining confidentiality and dignity. Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow and clinic operations. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain required certifications and continuing education.
Travel to assigned clinic locations as needed to support patient care and operational needs.
Qualifications
Required Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Current state licensure as required. New grads encouraged to apply Current CPR/BLS certification. Strong knowledge of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment and procedures. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Preferred Experience in interventional pain management, orthopedic, spine, or special procedures settings. Experience using EClinicalWorks or other electronic medical record systems. Previous outpatient clinic experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and assist patients throughout the workday.
Ability to lift and move equipment and/or patients as needed. Frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance. Ability to travel between clinic locations when required. Skills and Competencies Strong attention to detail. Patient-centered approach to care. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills The employee must communicate professionally, respectfully, and effectively with patients, visitors, clinicians, coworkers, and vendors, including in busy, demanding, or stressful circumstances.
The employee must maintain professional composure and consistently perform assigned duties throughout the scheduled work period; manage routine workplace stressors and feedback without disrupting patient care, patient-facing operations, or coworkers’ work; and use established de-escalation and escalation procedures when appropriate.
The employee must exercise sound judgment; maintain appropriate workplace boundaries; receive and respond to routine feedback and direction; protect confidential patient and business information; and address patient or workplace concerns through established supervisory and safety procedures. These functions are essential to the position.
