H1 Paper Machine Superintendent

Hood Container is seeking an experienced Paper Machine Superintendent to lead paper machine operations with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and team development . This role is responsible for ensuring efficient, cost-effective production while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and developing future leaders within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a safe, compliant, and injury-free work environment. Manage paper machine operations to meet production, quality, and cost objectives. Maximize equipment reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency. Develop and implement short- and long-term operating plans and capital improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure products consistently meet customer expectations.

Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and hourly team members. Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement. Partner with site leadership to support mill-wide initiatives and long-term business growth.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). 5-10 years of linerboard or paper manufacturing experience. Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of paper machine operations, safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices.
