CHILD CARE CENTER SUPERVISOR Group Child Care Program Ages 3 - 5 DATE AVAILABLE: As soon as possible POSITION LOCATION: Dickinson High School QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for a dependable, caring adult who enjoys working with young children and can lead a child care team.

Education

or experience - you only need to meet ONE of the following options: A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development. An associate degree in any field, plus one of the following approved by North Dakota Health and Human Services: Eight semester credits or 12 quarter credits in early childhood education or child development.

120 hours of early childhood training. An approved director's credential. A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Completion of a state-approved diploma program focused on early childhood or child care. Certification from a Montessori teacher training program. High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in child care or a similar setting.

Additional requirements: Be an adult who can safely care for children, make sound decisions, and respond calmly to everyday challenges. Work well with children ages 3 - 5, families, and coworkers. Communicate clearly, stay organized, and protect private information. Meet required background-check and employment eligibility requirements.

Complete the state-approved basic child care course within 90 days of starting. Obtain approved infant and pediatric CPR, AED, and pediatric first aid certifications within 90 days of starting and before caring for children without supervision. Complete at least 10 hours of state-approved child care training each year, including one hour on recognizing and reporting suspected child abuse or neglect.

Keep training records current and follow state rules about repeating courses. RESPONSIBLE TO: Designated District administrator. JOB GOAL: To lead a welcoming, safe child care program for children ages 3 - 5, support staff, and build positive relationships with families. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Manage daily program activities and work closely with the designated District administrator.

Plan fun, age-appropriate activities that help children learn through play. Support children's language, creativity, movement, independence, and friendships. Help children with daily routines, including meals, rest, toileting, transitions, and indoor and outdoor play. Use patient, positive guidance and help staff do the same.

Make sure children and staff members under age 18 have adult supervision. Schedule staff, arrange substitute coverage, and make sure enough qualified employees are available for the children attending. Help Human Resources review applicants and confirm staff qualifications. Welcome and train new employees, document their orientation, and explain how to report concerns.

Support staff through coaching, feedback, training, and performance reviews. Keep enrollment, attendance, health, and other required records accurate and confidential. Talk with families about their children's needs, progress, and concerns. Follow District policies, child care licensing rules, and the program's approved capacity.

Keep the District administrator informed about staffing needs, safety concerns, and other program matters. Complete other related duties assigned by the designated District administrator or provider. Collaborating with the Early Childhood Education instructor on activities, schedules and student participation. Orienting, assigning tasks to, and supervising participating WBL high school students.

Maintaining consistent programming when classes are not participating Assisting with licensing preparation, inspections and required documentation. Supporting enrollment, family orientation and opening preparations TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work 195 days during the school year, with 8 hours per day. EVALUATION: Receive an annual performance review following District procedures.

WAGE: Category A8 with a starting salary range of $39,780 - $47,580, based on years of relevant experience. Salary will be prorated based on the start date.
