Job Title: Assistant Director, UG Admissions-Recruitment Engagement Department: Enrollment Management-Undergraduate Admissions Position Reports to: Director, Undergraduate Recruitment Position Class/Position Type: Exempt, Full-Time Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Recruitment Engagement will serve as a key member of the team responsible for recruiting and enrolling prospective students at Jacksonville University.
This position will oversee the operational and strategic functions of recruited student engagement, including the effective use of vendors and specialty scholarship programs. The Assistant Director will develop and maintain professional relationships with prospective students through multiple communication channels and engagement opportunities, leveraging internal and external partnerships, vendor resources, and other tools designed to support effective relationship management.
Additionally, the position will evaluate applications and supporting documentation, counsel prospective students throughout the recruitment and enrollment process, and provide recommendations to University leadership regarding recruitment strategies and initiatives. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties and Responsibilities: Integrate vendor partnerships to enhance recruitment and student engagement throughout the admissions cycle.
Use current undergraduate vendors to enhance our overall resources for students. Analyze current and historical enrollment trends in assigned territory to develop a strategy that serves the University’s enrollment goals. This position will create and implement an outline of goals to help build upon student engagement to promote Jacksonville University.
Develop projects/strategies that leverage partnerships to achieve enrollment goals. Cultivate and explore new relationships that can drive and improve our recruitment plan. This includes representing the University to schools, community partners, or educational consultants. Communicate with applicants, parents, advisors, consultants and recruiting partners to facilitate the admissions process.
Collaborates with internal university departments to research, collate, and share with colleagues, information, and data relevant to support prospective student scholarships. Ensure the maintenance of records and reporting in relation to the monitoring of student recruitment. Contribute with onboarding new admissions counselors.
Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Experience working with diverse student populations in advising and/or recruitment roles. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high level of tact and follow- through.
Excellent analytical skills, and problem-solving skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative relationships. Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and detailed records, and experience with preparing and submitting reports for accountability purposes. A person of character, drive and integrity who will always represent the University in a professional manner.
Ability to meet appropriate situations with reasonable, creative responses to achieve the goals and objectives of the recruitment effort. Dedicated to the mission of Jacksonville University regarding the growth of its student population. Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
Strong understanding of the admissions cycle, application review process, student recruitment, and key industry metrics. Experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives and planning recruitment travel. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and other basic technology. Experience with Technolutions Slate preferred Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach. Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines. Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
