EDUCATION

Meets Medical Board of California requirements CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider PSGT-Polysomnographic Technician from Medical Board of California EXPERIENCE: 6 months of experience as a Registered Polysomnographic Trainee SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to recognize and provides age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Knowledge of cardiorespiratory function, sleep physiology and neurology is essential in providing the basis for monitoring polysomnograms and recognizing pathology that requires treatment. Understanding of physics, medical electronics, in-depth medical terminology, with emphasis on pulmonology, neurology, and sleep-related pharmacology.

Knowledge of administration of oxygen, nasal CPAP, suction devices, and ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established protocols. Ability to work with others in a team environment. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills. Basic math and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to follow direction.

Pay Range

is $48.23 to $67.51 / hour The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
