Basic Requirements: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a STEM discipline 5+ years of embedded software development experience 5+ years C++ development experience Real-Time Operating Systems (MOSA.ic, Vx. Works, Integrity) Embedded application development using RTOS and Windows environments Prior SW Development and Integration experience utilizing the following communications protocols (MIL-STD-1553 & Ethernet) Software integration & test in lab and hardware environments Ability to obtain a security clearance Ability to work onsite 100% Ability to travel 10% Preferred / Additional Skills Active Secret Security Clearance Safety-critical avionics systems experience Experience utilizing Greenhills ARINC 653/APEX API Experience developing software for Electronic Warfare and Self Protection Systems ((ALQ-213, ALE-47, AN/AAR-47, AN/ALR-56M) Familiarity with software requirements development utilizing IBM DOORS CI/CD Pipeline experience Experience updating/reviewing software documentation (SRS/IRS, SDD/IDD, STP, STD, STR, etc) Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)
Version control and issue tracking (Gitlab, Atlassian suite) Hardware/software integration and troubleshooting Experience with Wireshark and Lua script plugins Experience with safety-critical software development and practices (DO-178C) Experience communicating and documenting complex technical designs Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills Sound Exciting?

Description Thompson Software Solutions is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of advanced software systems for a military aircraft platforms. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to mission-critical avionics and embedded capabilities that enable the performance, safety, and effectiveness of next-generation military aviation systems.
This position requires a software engineer to use a wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test software products. The successful candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
In this role, you will work independently at times on projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other software engineers, as well as other program development and deployment teams. Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Continued eligibility for access to classified information is required throughout employment, as dictated by program needs.
