Instructional Assistant Self-Contained I PT

17 hours per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) Under the direction of the special education teacher, the para educator helps to implement the IEP (Individualized Education Plan), help manage behaviors, and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment for students. Must complete Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department.

Training must be completed within one week of hire as a condition of employment. Additional 40 hours of training is available through the Special Education department allowing the employee to increase to lane 5 upon completion. Training must be completed within six (6) months from hire date as a condition of employment.
