DSP: Direct Support Professional

Direct Support Professional/ Akron, OH Area A Great Opportunity / $17.30-$18.30 per hour At ViaQuest Residential Services our DSPs provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in intermediate care facilities and their homes. Training for this position is provided in its entirety so no experience is required.

Responsibilities

Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities – our goal is to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment while assuring that their health and safety needs are being met at all times. Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life. Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.

Providing personal care assistance.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old High School Diploma or GED Valid Driver's License Motor Vehicle Record must specific requirements including (but not limited to): No OVI/DUI's, reckless operations, or speeding violations more than 20 MPH over posted limit No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years or more than 5 points Reliable vehicle with active insurance Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and assist individuals as needed About ViaQuest Residential Services To learn more about ViaQuest Residential Services please visit: http://www.
