ABOUT THE ROLE

As IT Operations Manager, you will sit at the center of how IT and Security operate across the organization. In this individual contributor role, you’ll serve as the primary link between leadership, staff, and the external IT partners who extend our team, ensuring alignment and keeping work on track. You will own the operational foundation of the function, including vendor management and renewals, compliance evidence, budgeting and reporting, and user access and account lifecycle management.

You will also act as backup administrator for our core platforms, a responsibility that reflects the high level of trust this role carries. This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative position, ideal for someone who excels at managing competing priorities and takes pride in being the person others count on to get things done.

RESPONSIBILITIES

AREA WHAT YOU'LL OWN Platform administration (backup) Serve as secondary administrator for Microsoft 365 / Entra ID. Do first-line triage of Microsoft Defender alerts and escalate to the CISO. Hold break-glass access and recovery codes under documented custody. Security & compliance operations Keep SOC 2 evidence current in Vanta.

Assemble customer security questionnaires, RFPs and DPAs, and key responses into customer portals for CISO sign-off. Enroll contractors in compliance tasks. Administer the security-awareness program and send new-hire security communications. Procurement & vendor management Monitor the IT renewal and subscription calendar (for example, Vanta, Cobalt pentest credits, CIS SecureSuite).

Manage SaaS licenses. Place hardware orders and vendor purchase orders and handle vendor relationships. Budget & reporting Track IT budget with Finance. Produce the monthly IT KPIs and the board-pack KPI data. Reconcile IT spending and support accounts-payable questions. Service coordination Act as the routing hub between staff, the managed help-desk provider, and IT contractors.

Monitor IT alerts and shared mailboxes. Coordinate onboarding and offboarding with HR. Projects & offices Track IT projects across four offices, such as network, conferencing, and access-control rollouts. Coordinate on-site vendors. Send a weekly IT task report to the VP/CISO. Documentation & policy Maintain runbooks, admin-platform inventory, and IT policies.

Make sure knowledge lives in shared, role-based locations rather than one person's account.

Qualifications

Required 7+ years in IT operations, IT administration, or a combined operations/IT role at a technology or SaaS company. Hands-on Microsoft 365 / Entra ID administration (users, groups, licensing, conditional access basics). Working knowledge of SOC 2 and experience gathering audit evidence (Vanta, Drata, or similar is a plus).

A track record managing vendor renewals, SaaS licenses, and procurement with no lapses. Strong written communication. You'll be the connection between leadership, vendors, and staff. Discretion with privileged access and confidential information. Preferred Experience with Microsoft Defender, an identity/IAM platform, or a password manager at the admin level.

Familiarity with ISO 27001 or NIST 800-53, and with security questionnaires and customer trust reviews. Experience coordinating a managed service provider (MSP) or outsourced help desk. Experience running IT logistics for multiple offices, including international ones.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $145,000 per year. This range represents our good-faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay at the time of hire.
