We’re seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our team, leading municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction.
What You’ll Lead:
- Lead multidisciplinary teams through the full project life cycle; planning, alternatives analysis, design, permitting, bidding, construction support, commissioning, and closeout.
- Manage water and wastewater infrastructure projects such as treatment facilities, pump and lift stations, storage facilities, distribution and collection systems, conveyance pipelines, utility planning, modeling, and rehabilitation improvements.
- Serve as a trusted client partner and primary point of contact, helping public agency and utility clients navigate technical, regulatory, budget, schedule, and stakeholder considerations.
- Develop and manage scopes, schedules, budgets, risk strategies, technical deliverables, and quality expectations to keep projects moving forward successfully.
- Provide technical leadership and QA/QC review for plans, specifications, opinions of probable cost, reports, permits, and construction-phase engineering support.
- Mentor and coach engineers, designers, and emerging project managers while creating a collaborative, accountable, and growth-minded team environment.
- Support business development through client relationship building, proposal strategy, interviews, presentations, networking, and identification of new and repeat work.
- Help clients pursue state, federal, and other funding opportunities that make critical infrastructure improvements possible.
What We’re Looking For:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in California (or ability to obtain such a license within three months)
- 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, preferably focused on municipal water, wastewater, utilities, treatment, conveyance, or related infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, quality, client communication, and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Strong technical background in project delivery from conceptual planning through detailed design, permitting, bidding, and construction support.
- Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, budgets, cost estimates, technical reports, plans, specifications, and client presentations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, subconsultants, internal teams, and community stakeholders.
- A leadership style that balances technical confidence with collaboration, mentorship, accountability, and a genuine interest in helping others grow.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
- Work that matters: design infrastructure that supports clean water, public health, environmental protection, and resilient communities.
- Work alongside experienced leaders in a culture that values growth, mentorship, and giving employees the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of a well-established local practice. Flexible schedule that supports both client service and work-life balance.
- Medical, dental, vision, and HSA options.
- Generous PTO to recharge and maintain balance.
- 401(k) plan with employer contribution.
- A chance to grow with a company recognized for strong client retention, strategic growth, and continued expansion in the AEC industry.
