Staff I, II, III - Financial Audit

Our team brings expertise in federal financial management, accounting, auditing, and compliance to help agencies address complex financial challenges and achieve sustainable improvements. We are seeking Junior Financial Auditors to support federal financial statement audit engagements. This position provides an opportunity to develop experience supporting complex government audits while working alongside experienced federal audit professionals.

Responsibilities

Assist audit teams with financial statement audit procedures and internal control testing. Perform assigned audit steps, including examination of accounting records, supporting documentation, and financial transactions. Prepare audit workpapers documenting procedures performed, testing results, and conclusions. Assist with audit planning activities, including gathering background information and understanding business processes.

Support preparation of audit deliverables, schedules, and documentation packages. Research federal accounting guidance, policies, and procedures as directed. Collaborate with senior auditors and engagement team members to complete audit assignments. Required Qualifications Must be a U.S. citizen. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and auditing concepts. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

Internship or prior experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis. CPA candidate or interest in pursuing CPA certification. Experience supporting government, public accounting, or internal audit engagements. Familiarity with federal financial management concepts, including GAGAS, OMB guidance, FASAB standards, or USSGL.

Prior experience supporting financial statement audits or compliance reviews.
