HR Data Analyst
Job description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION The HR Data Analyst supports data-driven decision-making across Human Resources by collecting, analyzing, validating, and reporting employee and organizational data and trends. This role develops forward-looking workforce analytics, dashboards, and insights that enable the CHRO and HRBPs to identify workforce trends, measure program effectiveness, improve processes, and support organizational goals.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, maintain, and deliver forward-looking workforce analytics, dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and reports that provide leaders with accurate, actionable insights - not routine day-to-day operational reporting. Create clear, executive-ready data visualizations and PowerPoint presentations that communicate key insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Contribute to data-driven decision-making by ensuring the accuracy, quality, and effective interpretation of workforce and talent management information. Analyze workforce trends across employee engagement, talent acquisition, performance, retention, and organizational health to identify risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
Translate complex workforce data into concise reports, executive-ready presentations, and recommendations that support strategic and operational decision-making. Analyze employee surveys and listening programs, translating feedback into actionable insights, clearly defined ownership, and measurable action plans. Partner with business leaders and key stakeholders to define analytical needs, answer critical business questions, and deliver data-driven solutions that improve organizational effectiveness.
Support workforce planning and forecasting by developing staffing models, evaluating talent demand and organizational capacity, and providing visibility into future headcount needs, skill requirements, and timing. Maintain data integrity by establishing consistent metric definitions, governance practices, and validation processes that support reliable workforce reporting and decision-making.
Support strategic HR initiatives by providing analytical guidance for talent management, retention strategies, employee experience, organizational design, performance programs, compensation reviews, workforce planning, and other strategic priorities. Page Break EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
3+ years of advanced data analysis experience, including statistical analysis, trend identification, data interpretation, and the development of analytical models and reports. 2+ years of HR experience, preferably with a focus on workforce analytics, employee engagement, HRIS reporting, scorecards, KPIs, and data interpretation.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience required. Experience with HRIS platforms and analytics tools; ADP Workforce Now and/or ADP Total. Source preferred. Experience with business analytics and data visualization platform tools such as Power BI or Tableau; SQL or other query language experience preferred. Relevant HR or people analytics certification preferred, such as SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM People Analytics Specialty Credential, or AIHR People Analytics Certificate.
COMPETENCIES Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency with HR analytics, reporting, and visualization tools, including Excel, Power BI, or Tableau. Collaborative, adaptable, and able to work effectively in both independent and team-based settings.
